Lehigh Country Club hosts a comprehensive internship program. The Club is committed to nurturing talent across various departments such as Golf, Greens, Culinary, Restaurant, and Banquet. Greens Internship

The Greens Internship immerses individuals in the intricacies of maintaining and enhancing the Club's greens and outdoor spaces. Interns rotate through various tasks such as turfgrass management, irrigation system maintenance, landscaping projects, and pest control. Under the guidance of experienced groundskeepers, Grounds Superintendent and the Director of Grounds, interns gain hands-on experience and insights into effective turf management practices, ensuring the Club's outdoor areas are pristine and inviting for members and guests.

Culinary Internship

The Culinary Internship offers hands-on experience in the Restaurant's back-of-house operations, rotating through various stations such as prep, pantry, production, expediting, banquets, ordering, and inventory management. Interns have the chance to gain insights from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, acquiring invaluable knowledge in kitchen protocols and ensuring top-notch member satisfaction.


Food & Beverage Internship

The Food & Beverage Internship concentrates on grasping the responsibilities of various front-of-house roles within the Restaurant, encompassing Server Assistant, Food Runner, Server, and Bartender. Supports daily food and beverage activities across these positions to gain comprehensive understanding of both à la carte and banquet service. Advancement within the internship entails shadowing front-of-house managers to acquire fundamental floor management skills. They work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager and team to gain practical skills and ensure outstanding experiences for members.

Events Internship

The Events Internship provides exposure to the dynamic world of hospitality and event management. Interns rotate through different aspects of event planning and execution, including but not limited to venue setup, member services, coordination with vendors, logistics management, and post-event evaluation. They work closely with the Events Manager, Banquet Chef and the hospitality team to gain practical skills and ensure seamless event experiences for members.

Golf Internship

The Golf Internship offers a comprehensive experience in the operations and management of the Club's golf facilities. Interns rotate through key areas such as pro shop operations, course maintenance, golf instruction, tournament organization, and player services. The program also includes exposure to retail merchandising, providing insight into inventory management, product selection, and sales strategies. Working closely with PGA professionals and course maintenance staff, interns gain practical skills and insights into providing exceptional golf experiences for members and guests. This hands-on internship equips individuals with the knowledge and expertise needed to excel in various aspects of the golf industry.

 

Education

Interns will be afforded the opportunity to attend various CMAA meetings during their internship. All interns will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing training meetings during their time at Lehigh Country Club.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be enrolled in a four-year program or related field. This candidate must have an outgoing personality, exceptional communication skills, positive attitude and be team-oriented. The candidate must be honest, respectful, dedicated, caring and have a strong worth ethic. The candidate is expected to be self-motivated and committed to exceeding the expectations of the membership and their guests.
